GRADE 3
The Grade 3s are continuously keeping and staying busy at school!
In week 3, we were lucky enough to have an incursion by the “Zoo Comes to You,†which ties in with the Integrated Studies topic the children are working on this term. We learnt about the life cycles of reptiles, birds and insects, what they eat and other various information. Every child had the opportunity to pat, hold and get a photo with one of the animals that we were introduced to.
In writing, the children have started researching information on an animal of their choice that they are going to write an Information Report on. In Maths, the children were very engaged when using hands-on-materials, such as unifix blocks to complete the more challenging problems that were presented to them in Number and Algebra. We have since completed this topic and are moving onto the next topic of Geometry and Measurement.
As well as our learning inside the classroom, the children have been looking after our two veggie boxes – planting small parsley plants and we are hoping that they will grow!
